    Stewing

Wednesday, October 3, 2007, 10:49 PM PST [General]

I've been stewing on a few things, like my path and were it is going.  I want to complete my training and I have a teacher that is willing as  long as I take better care of myself.  Which is a good thing since I am a very undisciplinded diabetic.  Which is a bad thing.  So I am focusing on my health for real this time, actually exercising, eating better and learning what I can do to do it better.  I have been so focused on taking care of everyone around me that I don't take care of myself, so this is an exciting time for me!

My path in someways is becoming more personal and less trad oriented, although the basis is good.  I want more personal worship, kinship, more ecstatic, more understanding and growth in my path.  I am recalling what my first teacher taught me and how amazing she was and is!  How I aspire to be that kind of a Witch!  I am amazed by our Elders and I aspire to be that one day, to be the next solid link in our chain.

Meditation has always been good for me but of late I haven't been doing it, grounding is getting harder for me sometimes.  Coming from someone who has like 5 planets in Capricorn, is really sad too!  I find grounding in ritual easy, but when I am trying to go to sleep and I can't because the mental chatter won't stop.  I try to ground, I run through the standard grounding practices and usually give up in frustration and just have to force myself to sleep.  I'm not sure what that means!

Anywas, that's my rambling for tonight!  Anyone got any suggestions for me?  I'd love to hear what folks think.

    Bright Blessing to All,

    Mary

    Welcome Mabon

Saturday, September 22, 2007, 02:55 PM PST [General]

Last night the rain finally came, I danced in the first showers of the season.  The moon was shining above and the wind was soft with a slight chill.  It was just glorious.  I gave thanks to the Lady and the Lord for bringing the rain early.  This year has been dryer than normal, the rain season was short.  The fire season has been lasting longer than normal too.  I asked that Lady and the Lord that our rain season this fall and winter would be plentiful.

I love this time of year; the change in the air, different smells, fires burning in fireplaces, the sound of children playing the autumn days, warm cookies and pumpkin patches.  Magick seems to be palpable in the air to even the most mundane folk.  The leaves burn with the colors of the season, reminding us that the second harvest has arrived.  Time to gather in what is needed for the coming winter, time still to enjoy the shift in seasons. Time to plan for the last harvest of Samhain.  Spells and seeds  that were begun in spring are completing their cycle.  As the harvest continues, what can we give back to our Gods, to our community, to ourselves.

Part of my harvest is delving deeper into my own personal path.  As my formal training is at a stand still for the moment, I am diving deeper into my Kemetic path as well as my personal Witchcraft path.  I am working on my study of the Tarot and other forms of card divination.  My daily practice is suffering from lack of attention, something else for me to focus on as the year quiets down.  Meditation is something that I have always found useful.

Harvest reminds me to be thankful for all that I have, I realize how precious life is and even in the harvest life continues.  New growth will come from fallow ground in the spring.  The cycle continues; life, death, rebirth.  They circle us as we embrace them.

Blessed Be Everyone and Happy Mabon!

Is it just me, or is the Moon in

Monday, September 17, 2007, 11:19 PM PST [General]

So today started out really nicely!  Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy!  I went to see one of my "littermates."  My littermates are all of my friends I made during my training and initiation processes, we kinda all grew up together spiritually, so we are "littermates."  Anyways, that was wonderful just some girl time.  Then I went to help another littermate with some schleping.  That too was wonderful.  We talked about the old days, spiritual things, music, all kinds of things.  I had a wonderful day....

Then I came home and I saw my beloved had left me the driveway, I thought "Wow, what a Sweetheart!"

    Then I walked inside...

To get my butt chewed.  What happened?  Did the Earth shift on it's axis?  Did I enter an alternate reality?  What the h#((?

I tried to make the best of it, since my folks were taling us out to dinner.  Gotta be happy for them, right?

No, I about had a total mental breakdown in the restaurant, crying and nashing of teeth - the whole 9 yards.  Been laid off for how long now!?  Fun, Fun!  Honey was supportive in his own way.

What is the lesson here today?  I think I missed getting the study notes..  Does any one have them?  Can I copy them from you, I'll bring them back on Friday!

    Seriously though...

I went to an amazing Kemetic ritual on Sunday.  Truly amazing, very moving.  We honored the reconciliation between Heru and Sutekh (Horus and Set.)  The balance is crucial, light and darkness, meeting in the middle neither one whole without the other.  Rigth for right's sake or might is right, which one is more useful in our lives?

It depends I guess.  We do what we think is right and good because we believe it to be so, then when we are in danger or our family is in danger we act.  We protect what means the most to us, usually family whether biological or chosen.

Sometimes it just feels like the last 2 months have been like living in a meat grinder.  All twisted about only to come out completely differnet than when I went in.

Maybe that's it, maybe it's growing pains.  Oh great, I just love those don't you!?

I know that once I am through this I will have grown a huge amount.  I guess the "ClueX4's" have a way of getting bigger when I am not paying attention..

Lady, I am paying attention.  Please....

What kind of Pagan am I?

Wednesday, September 12, 2007, 09:54 PM PST [General]

Well this was truly fun!  Thanks to all the folks that did it before me!

    B*B,

    Mary

What kind of Pagan are you?
You scored as a Egyptian Pantheonic Pagan
You scored as an Egyptian Pagan. With equal draw to both men and women, the Egyptian pantheon is a wealth of ancient stories and forgotten customs. Very seductive to the more cerebral Pagans, devoting oneself to this faith often means being willing to really work on finding out who your Gods were. Never an easy undertaking. Dedicated and insightful, you know you're among good company with those who also understand your Gods.
